What is small world?

In these weekly notes, I write on global economic, geopolitical, and policy issues. From the future of globalisation to geopolitical competition and the post-Covid economy, I focus on the disruptive changes underway that governments, firms, and investors need to understand and respond to.

On alternate weeks, I write a small world and global briefing notes.

Each small world note focuses on selected global developments that I assess to be important, and provides a high-level take on the implications. Readers of small world get a first draft sense of how I am thinking about current global developments: what matters, what doesn’t matter, what does this tell us about the future, what should be on the agenda for decision-makers?

Each global briefing note provides brief commentary and analysis on five notable economic or geopolitical developments that are happening. They provide my real time perspective on various issues as they emerge, providing insights on why they matter.

There are several subscription options.

Group subscriptions are available at €300/year per person. For group subscriptions with 10 or more subscribers (or the equivalent price), I offer quarterly 1:1 briefings/calls to discuss the issues in my notes.

An institutional subscription is also available, which provides full access by an unlimited number of people with the same organisational email address. Why subscribe?

Subscribers receive detailed weekly notes and charts on globalisation and geopolitics, economic policy, the post-Covid world, and so on.  My aim is to provide distinctive insights into structural changes in global economics and geopolitics, and new ideas on what to expect and how to respond – which I’d like to think is of value.

I write small world primarily for decision-makers/advisors/strategists in governments, firms, and financial institutions around the world that are looking for insights on the emerging global economic and political environment. And also for anyone that is simply interested in understanding these issues.

I write on global issues from a small economy perspective, countries that are deeply exposed to global dynamics, which brings a different lens than many large economy voices. So read these notes if you want a slightly different take on global developments

You can subscribe to receive my notes directly by email. I write every week, on a Friday.
